A Cannes of can’t.
On Sunday we took the train to Cannes. We did a bit of swimming in the warm sea and went to a beach cafe for lunch. We saw someone who looked uncannily like Marianne Faithful, and later saw an interview with her in a train magazine – perhaps she’s a regular round there.
On Monday we came back up to Paris and checked into our lovely hotel, the very same one that we stayed in for our minimoon back in 2010.
This morning we walked to Galaries Lafayette, then onto the Arc De Triomphe, la Tour Eiffel and La Louvre. The sun shone continuously and I was in such a good mood that I bought Kelly some perfume.
We listened to Grand Drive this evening before stepping out to buy (another) nice bottle of Chablis and a couple of pizzas for tea which we ate at the hotel as Mabel didn’t fancy eating in a restaurant again. There’s a sad lack of children in the restaurants that we’ve been to, and also on the trains.
It’s been a great holiday.
